The Bayou Street townhomes were one of the first in-field development projects completed by Jacob Landry. This development sits right outside of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus and offers a great housing opportunity in that area.

Market Opportunities

The University at Lafayette has continued to grow and the demand for housing around campus has grown along with it. These townhomes are a solid investment for investors looking for steady cash-flow providing student housing. Several were purchased by parents for short-term accommodations for their students and then long-term rentals. 

Unique Challenges

One of the unique challenges with this location was that the zoning required us to build these as condos to meet the density that we needed. After construction, we were able to work with the city to convert them from condos to townhomes which opened up better financing options for homeowners.
